Jujuy Province it is a province argentina in Northwest Andes.
To know
Its capital San Salvador de Jujuy it is a perfect starting point for exploring some of the most desolate and wonderful landscapes in the world. At the moment not many foreigners hang out around here and tourism is mostly fueled by Argentines, Bolivians is Brazilians.
Geographical notes
Located in the extreme north-west of the country, it borders the Chile and the Bolivia; the only neighboring province is that of Jump to the east and south.
Geographically, the province is divided into four regions: Puna, Quebrada de Humahuaca, Valles, Yungas.
Spoken languages
Most of the people you meet in Jujuy province only speak Spanish. There are however a large number of people from Bolivia as well Peru who speak quechua.

By car
Ruta Nacional 9 connects the border Bolivian to Buenos Aires passing through the province of Jujuy from north to south.
By bus
From Jump it's just a two-hour bus ride at a cost of 17 ARS (March 2008) or share a remis and delight in a empanada while waiting. Some of the best empanada of meat are sold across the street from the bus station, where the remis leaves. The bus station is a 15 minute walk from the city center and a taxi should cost no more than 3 ARS (March 2008).
How to get around
By car
The Ruta Nacional 9 which connects the provincial capitals of Jujuy and Jump. It is 93.2 miles long and passes through a mountain road that crosses the Yungas.

Trekking is king in this area.
At the table
Street food near the bus stop is excellent and cheap: 4 empanadas for ARS1 (March 2008).
One of the most elegant places to eat is Miralejos in front of the Plaza Belgrano. For the most delicious desserts go to Casa Bindo.
Tourist infrastructure
There are several Jujuy hostels but none like Yok Wahi on La Madrid. Whether you speak Spanish well or not, these guys will help you find mountains, appreciate local wine, and laugh a lot!
