Bago region (or Pegu Region) is an administrative division of the Burma, located in the southern part of the country.

Geographical notes
It borders the Magway region and with the Mandalay region North; with the Karen state (or Kayin state), lo State Mon and the Gulf of Martaban to the east, with the Yangon region to the south and with the Ayeyarwady region and it Rakhine state West.

Urban centers
- Bago (or Pegu) - Administrative capital just 80 km north of Yangon Bago has a few pagoda, a museum and Buddhist monasteries nearby.
- Pyay (Prome at the time of English rule) - On the banks of the Ayeyarwady River in the western section of the region. Its only attraction is the pagoda Shwesandaw Paya. In its vicinity is the archaeological site of Thayekhittaya, very little visited by tourists, although it does not lack interest.
- Shwedaung - Village south of Pyay with two interesting pagodas.
- Taungoo - Capital of a 15th century Burmese kingdom, Taungoo retains nothing of its past except a few pagoda.
