Mandalay region is a region of the Burma. Its territory welcomes the city of Mandalay, second for importance of the country and numerous archaeological sites among which that of Bagan (or Pagan).

The Mandalay region is located in the center of the country; it borders to the west with the regions of Sagaing is Magway, to the east with the Shan state and to the south with the Bago and it Karen state. In the south of the Mandalay region and precisely in the municipal territory of Pyinmana it is located Naypyidaw, the nation's capital since November 6, 2005. Mandalay and its territory play an important role in the country's economy.
The majority of the population are Burmese with Shan minorities in the eastern section. There are also important communities of Chinese and Indians engaged in commercial activities.
