Sagaing region is an administrative territory in the north of the Burma.

The Sagaing region is located in the north west of the country at latitude 21 ° 30 'north and longitude 94 ° 97' east. It borders on the west with the Chin state and states Indians of Nagaland is Manipur, to the east with the Kachin state, lo Shan state and the Mandalay region and to the south with the Magway region.
Culture and traditions
The Bamar are the majority ethnic group in the dry regions and along the railway line between Mandalay and Myitkiyna. The Shan live in the upper reaches of the Chindwin River Valley. - Sagaing - The administrative capital of the division is a city with a rich history behind it and with numerous artistic testimonies.
- Mingun - A small village just north of Mandalay, on the right bank of the Ayeyarwady river near which there are interesting ruins including those of a large 18th century pagoda seriously damaged by a subsequent earthquake but still able to seduce.
- Mogok - The city of gems in a magnificent landscape.
- Monywa - A town with an agricultural vocation, 136 km east of Mandalay on the banks of the Chindwin River with some Buddhist monuments nearby including the "Hpo Win Daung" caves with frescoes and statues dating from the 14th - 16th centuries.
- Shwebo - Agricultural center north of Mandalay in the vicinity of which are the ruins of Halins, an ancient capital of the Pyu kingdom that flourished between the 3rd and 9th centuries AD.
