Riva di Solto is located on the western bank of the Lake Iseo.
Background
The town probably already existed in Roman times and became an important fortified village during the Middle Ages. Lake Iseo until the construction of the current road Western Sebina which runs along the Bergamo side of the Lake Iseo. Important over the centuries has been the mining of black marble behind the town, a material that was used for the construction of some columns of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice.

How to get around
What see
- Church of S. Rocco. It was built in 1530 by a vote of the population during a plague epidemic. Even today pilgrimages are made there every August 16, on the occasion of the saint's feast day.
- Martinoni Palace. It has a courtyard with a portico with frescoes.
- Polini-Martinoni Palace. Characterized by a portico with frescoes, it dates back to the sixteenth century, and was originally used as a monastery.
- Medieval towers. On the municipal area there are five towers, one of which next to the parish church and three others in the historic center.
- parish church (of San Nicola Vescovo). The first traces of this church date back to the 11th century, although the current building was built during the 18th century on a project by Bernardo Fedrighini da Predor. Later enlarged, it houses, in its three-nave structure, statues, paintings and frescoes by Pilati, Antonio Cifrondi and Enea Salmeggia. Noteworthy is the organ, the work of Adeodato Bossi.
