Geographical notes
Riviera dei Cedri identifies the northern strip of the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, in the province of Cosenza. 22 municipalities between Tortora and Sangineto are part of the Riviera dei Cedri. A part of this territory is included in the Pollino National Park.
Culture and traditions
The name Riviera dei Cedri derives from the widespread cultivation of cedar, an ancient citrus fruit whose roots go back to classical antiquity and Jewish orthodoxy.

Urban centers
- Amantea
- Curinga - In its territory we find its 5 km of beach on the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the numerous farmhouses and restaurants from which you can taste the delicacies of the place.
- Diamond
- Lamezia Terme - Third urban center of the region by population, in its municipality there are Lamezia Terme International Airport and Lamezia Terme Centrale station, respectively the main airport and the main railway station of Calabria.
- Paola
- Praia a Mare
- Santa Maria del Cedro
How to get
By plane
The main airport of Calabria is located in Lamezia Terme, so it is not difficult to reach the Riviera; to get to the other places you will obviously have to move by other means.
By car
Some of these locations are home to junctions of the A2, which allows direct connection with the main Italian cities via the motorway network.
On the train
The Southern Tyrrhenian Railway runs along the coast, therefore most of the cities have an RFI railway station; it must be borne in mind, however, that in most stations only regional trains stop (in the northern part on the link Naples - Paola, in the south instead Paola - Reggio Calabria Centrale), so it is good to take this into account if you want to reach specific locations (to date high-speed trains stop in the Lamezia Terme Centrale and Paola stations while in the Amantea and other IC trains stop on the route Rome Termini - Reggio di Calabria Central).
By bus
Numerous private companies make stops in the towns of the Riviera, in particular in Paola and Lamezia Terme
How to get around
On the train
Most of the resorts on the Riviera have an RFI station, therefore moving via regional trains is easy, especially between locations south and north of Paola (in the north-south connection, however, a stopover in Paola must be taken into account) .
