Roppenheim is a village of the community association Uffried in the northern Alsace and is in the department Bas-Rhin.
background
To the community association Uffried include the 9 places Auenheim. Forstfeld, Fort-Louis, Kauffenheim, Leutenheim, Neuhaeusel, Roeschwoog (administrative headquarters), Roppenheim and Rountzenheim. In the Middle Ages, the Uffried was a fiefdom of the Counts of Fleckenstein, at that time Roppenheim was the administrative seat of the lands until the French Revolution. In 1543 the place became largely Protestant. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Uffried came under the rule of the Princes of Rohan and thus the French kings.
The association of municipalities is located in the canton of Bischwiller, which belongs to the Arrondissement of Hagenau.

- St. Michael Church. The church is located in the center of the village next to Rue Principale. It was first mentioned in a document in 1372. In 1543 the church became Protestant, from 1696 to 1885 it was a simultaneous church, then again Protestant. The church tower is in Romanesque style, the nave was completed in 1623, the renaissance stalls inside are from 1672, the organ was installed in 1791. A few old tombs have been preserved next to the church.
- St. Joseph Church. The Catholic church was built in 1885, it is a simple building on the Rue Principale.

Outlet Center Roppenheim
The Roppenheim The Style Outlets, 1 Rue de L’Europe, 67480 Roppenheim, France has become the main attraction of Roppenheim. The shopping center with over 100 shops was officially opened on April 25, 2012, but not all shops have been leased (as of July 2012). The offer is a mix of French, German and international brands. The complex is intended to be reminiscent of an Alsatian village and is divided into the architectural styles of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque. Opening times Mon-Sat 10 a.m.-7 p.m. It is clearly visible next to the D4 and is easy to reach by car, there are around 1700 parking spaces available around the center. The staff speaks good German throughout.
