- 1 Lammeröfen gorge. Narrow gorge on the path of the Lammer river, on the Strubberg mountain, carved by a glacier between 40,000 and 10,000 years ago. It is one of the most famous gorges in the region and for this reason it was declared a natural monument by the regional administration in 1978. Used for the transport of wood, it was made accessible to tourists by creating a system of ladders in 1884. The "dark gorge" , the narrowest stretch, is located at the entrance, where the walls are just over a meter away and small precepted rocks close the environment forming a natural roof. The central section is slightly wider and allows you to observe the walls, which reach a depth of over one hundred meters. The exit of the gorge is at Oberscheffau.
