Sarrebourg (Ger. Saarburg, same name, but not identical to the city Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate) is a city with 12,000 inhabitants in the department Moselle in Lorrainebelonging to the region Grand Est belongs.

The Roman post office Pons Saravi was founded 2000 years ago at a ford across the Saar, which the Gallo-Romanesque villa St. Ulrich still bears witness to today. The peace window measures 12 meters in height, 7.5 meters in width and weighs 900 kilograms. The stained glass was implemented by Chagall in collaboration with Charles Marq. Today the chapel serves as a museum for the Chagall windows and is part of the Marc Chagall museum course of the city of Sarrebourg. Photography is prohibited in the chapel!

  • There are several railway line cycle paths which together are over 20 km long. The Sarrebourg route - Abreschviller is now continuous and approx. 16 km long. Unfortunately there are many names for the trails (e.g. "Voie verte des Deux Sarre") that do not appear on the signs on site.
