The Schwägalp Pass is a road link between the Appenzeller Hinterland and the Toggenburg, Starting point for hikes in the Alpstein and for the cable car to the Säntis.

The Schwägalp pass lies in eastern Switzerland between Nesslau-Neu St. Johann in the Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen and Urnaesch in the canton Appenzell Ausserrhoden. The pass is at 1278 m above sea level. M.

From the Schwägalp pass summit, a fork leads to Schwägalp at 1,360 m above sea level. M. Schwägalp is located on the imposing north face of the Säntis and is the starting point of the cable car to the 2502 m high Säntis.

The Schwägalp itself is - apart from cable car users and hikers - a popular destination for mountain bikers and motorcyclists in particular.

Postbuses run regularly to and from Toggenburg (Nesslau, with a rail connection to Wattwil and Wil SG or bus route over Wildhaus to Buchs SG) and the Appenzellerland (Urnäsch, with rail connection to Appenzell and St. Gallen or after Herisau and Gossau SG).
