Taba Heights (Arabic:طابا هايتس, Ṭābā Hāits) is an artificially created resort on the east coast of the South Sinai, at the Gulf of Aqaba, about 20 kilometers south of Taba. The place with five hotels offers, in addition to the promenade with shops, cafes and the marina, water and golf sports opportunities.

Based on the model of the economically successful holiday resort El Gouna was here in the bay area Marsā el-Muqābil the vacation spot Taba Heights by the Egyptian concern Orascom created since the 1990s. Today 51 percent of the department is owned by General Authority for Red Sea Ports, the rest too Orascom Hotels Management.[1]

The resort was intended primarily for European and Israeli travelers. However, Taba Heights has never matched the popularity of other seaside resorts in Sinai. And the number of guests from Israel fluctuates depending on the security situation.

By plane
The closest 1 Taba International Airport

By boat
Taba Heights has one 3 Marina(29 ° 22 ′ 32 ″ N.34 ° 47 '38 "E.) with 50 berths for yachts with a maximum length of 40 meters and a maximum draft of 3 meters. The port and marina are designed for one million passengers a year.
Between the Tala Bay Marina in the Jordanian Aqaba and the Taba Heights Marina operate daily passenger ferries, i.e. without vehicle transport. They are usually used for trips to e.g. Petra. Travelers should be at the port one hour before departure. The journey takes about 45 to 60 minutes.
Prices are around $ 100 for adults and $ 70 for children under the age of 12 (as of 1/2013). The ticket is valid for a return trip. There are no tickets for the individual routes. A ticket is valid for 7 days.
The ferry Sindbad (E-mail: [email protected]) starts in Taba at 7:00 a.m. Egyptian time and returns at 8:30 p.m. Jordanian time. There are also weekend trips from Aqaba. The ferry Babel (E-mail: [email protected]) departs Taba at 6:00 a.m. Egyptian time and returns at 6:45 p.m. Jordanian time. The ferry from ABMaritime Thursdays to Sundays at 1.30 p.m. in Taba Heighs, from Aqaba on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. A return ticket costs US $ 75 (as of 3/2020).
Most travelers take the trip with tour operators. Individual travelers must arrange for the departure tax (JOD 10) to be paid by a representative of the shipping company themselves before they can receive an exit stamp. Without an exit stamp you will not be allowed on board. In the port of Aqaba you have to take care of an entry visa yourself.

The hotels on the coast have their own beaches. The beach extends over a length of five kilometers.
Diving
Diving and snorkeling is possible on the house reefs of the hotel complex. Between Taba and Taba Heights there are different diving areas from north to south such as The Canyon, Ben Coral, Pharaoh Island, Fjord Bay, The Sun Pool, Maxwell’s Reef, Raʾs Amīra, The Aquarium, Angel Net, Marsā el-Muqābil, Napoleon Reef and Devils Head. The underwater world mainly includes reef inhabitants. Sharks and dolphins can be seen less often.

Boat trips
There is one in the south of the resort Marina (see under arrival).
From the water sports center there are boat trips with the dhow built in 1996 M.S. De Monfreid. The sailing ship is a replica of the 1911 for the French writer and adventurer Henry De Monfreid (1879–1974) created Dau. Usually these boat trips lead to Pharaoh Island.
Sailing tours with catamarans are also offered.
