getting there
By train
There is a daily train from Hanoi to Thái Nguyên. The train starts from Long Bien Bridge station.
By bus
From the My Dinh bus station in Hanoi, buses run to Thái Nguyên about once an hour (as of 2011). However, these buses are terribly overcrowded depending on the time of day. The cost of one trip is around € 2. You should also know your destination (if it is along the route) in Vietnamese. The bus station (Bến xe Mỹ Đình) is about 10km west of Hanoi's Old Quarter.
In the street
Anyone traveling by car or motorcycle should plan at least 2 hours for the 70km due to the road conditions.
