When to go

Summer is the best time to visit Trasacco. In August, in particular, there are festivals and fairs and, at the end of the month, the celebrations in honor of San Cesidio, patron saint of the town.

Background

Photographic glimpse of Trasacco

Studies and research have focused on archaeological deposits dating back to the Palaeolithic and Neolithic times and on the findings in the Continence Cave which testify to the continuous presence of man in these places since prehistoric times. Throughout the Middle Ages and in the modern age Trasacco has followed the historical events of the Marsica hand in hand and in contemporary times it has been at the center of those related to the drying up of the Fucino and, tragically, of those of the earthquake of 1915.
