Val Vestino or Vestino Valley or Valvestino but also Vestina Valley in the oldest documents it is a sub-region belonging to the Lombardy, in Bresciano.

Geographical notes
Val Vestino is located between Lake Garda and the Idro lake and is crossed by the stream Toscolano, which powers the Valvestino lake and then flows into Lake Garda a Toscolano. The small alpine valley is entirely mountainous and the highest peaks are the Monte Caplone and the Mount Tombea, both of 1,976 meters.
Background
In 1866 the valley was so described by the mountaineer Irish John Ball: «... The Tyrolean part of the valley is called Val Vestino. It is, thus isolated in a district, very populous which includes seven or eight villages, and much arable land, extending into many small branches interrupted by the mountains ...».

By car
The SP9 passes through Val Vestino Gargnano - Valvestino - Magasa which descends from Magasa passing through the artificial lake of Valvestino and along the Toscolano stream.
To reach the valley from Idro lake instead it is necessary to take from Hydro the SP58 leading up to Capovalle, then the SP113 up to Turano di Valvestino where the SP9 passes.
How to get around
What see
- 1 Cima Rest barns. Stone barns with a wooden roof, pointed and with very steep pitches, covered with overlapping bundles of wheat stalks grown on high ground as the straw of wheat grown at low altitudes rots. The barns are used on the first floor as a shelter for animals, for the processing of cheese and its temporary conservation, on the second floor as a deposit for forage.
