Urban centers

  • Brescia - Vast and modern, the Lioness, the second largest city in the Region, with some neighborhoods climbing up the first hills, and expanding on the plains more and more. In its ancient part, however, it retains many traces of Roman Brixia, of the Lombards who made it the capital of a prosperous and vast Duchy as well as of the over three hundred years of Venetian rule, during which it was a quiet and flourishing city of the Mainland. The museum complexes of Santa Giulia are of great importance. The various buildings that dot the historic center are also of exquisite workmanship, the Martinengo da Barco Palace (which houses the Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery), the old and new Monti di Pietà (whose facades, embellished with Roman tombstones, represent the oldest lapidary museum in Italy) and the Palazzo Martinengo Cesaresco Novarino (under which there is an extraordinary archaeological stratification).
  • Gardone Val Trompia
  • Gavardo
  • Gussago
  • Lumezzane
  • Magasa - Small town of the Val Vestino famous for its traditional thatched barns.
  • Rezzato
