The city of Walldorf is located in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. Today she is primarily known for the software company SAP. But already in the 19th century a son of the city made its name known worldwide: it was Johann Jakob Astor, born in 1763, who emigrated to the USA and became one of the richest men of his time. The name of Waldorf Astoria Hotels goes to his offspring William Waldorf Astor back.
