Warstein is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia and lies on the northern edge of the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. Warstein is especially known for the Warsteiner beer, which is brewed in the brewery in the Waldpark.

Warstein is located on the northern edge of the Sauerland and is surrounded by forests. In addition to Warstein with almost 9,000 inhabitants, the city also has 9 districts, the largest being Belecke with over 5,000 and Suttrop with more than 3,000 inhabitants.

By plane
The Paderborn Lippstadt Airport is about 25 km away to the Dortmund Airport it's 60 km.
By train
Warstein does not have a train station with passenger traffic. The nearest train stations are in Meschede and Bestwig on the Upper Ruhr Valley Railway Hagen-Bestwig-Warburg and Lippstadt and Soest on the Hamm-Warburg line. There are usually hourly bus connections from Meschede, Soest and Lippstadt.
In the street
Warstein is on the B55, it comes at Anröchte from the A44 17 km away and goes in the direction of Meschede to the A46 12 km away. The B516 comes from Werl in the west, passes the northern districts of Warstein and continues to Brilon.
On the bike

The approx. 42 km long railway cycle path runs through the Warsteiner urban area Pengel-Anton cycle path from Soest via the Möhnetal to Brilon. At the former Sichtigvor train station, 2 old railway carriages have been prepared as a railway museum.In the summer months, buses run on the lines R51 (Soest - Belecke - Warstein), R61 (Lippstadt - Belecke) and R71 (Brilon - Rüthen - Belecke) on Sundays and public holidays additional possibility to take bicycles with you.

The districts are on a regular basis, but heavily thinned out, especially on the weekends Bus transport, connected. However, the important tourist destinations are approached. Traveling by (rental) car may be recommended. However, especially the Warstein city center is heavily parked and there can be long traffic jams on the thoroughfare.

- 1 Loermcke Tower. The 35 m high observation tower is located at a height of 581 m near Warstein, in the Arnsberg Forest. It is free to use. The tower can only be reached on foot. A parking lot on the B55 is signposted accordingly. From there it is about 3 km or 35 minutes at a brisk pace. The way is signposted. There are seating and tables at the foot of the tower. The 204 steps lead to 3 platforms, the top one offering an impressive view of the landscape. There are several boards with destinations and explanations of places up to 15 km away. If the weather is suitable, however, the view extends much further. From time to time a strong wind blows high above the treetops, in which you can feel the slight movement of the tower.
- 2 Warstein Wildlife Park, Im Bodmen 52 (bus R76, Bilsteinhöhle), visit and parking free of charge. Dogs can be kept on a leash.
- Bilstein Cave Stalactite cave, located in the wildlife park. Only accessible with a guide, open April-November 9 am-4:30pm, admission adults € 4.50, admission children. € 2.50, Dec-Mar Mon-Sat 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Sun 9 a.m.-4.30 p.m.

- The 3 Bullerteich is a small pond on the main street with the rattle stork, which is important for Warstein, and an undershot demonstration water wheel. The water there allegedly contains natural carbonic acid, which is formed from the large areas of limestone. In many places you can see rising bubbles, which gave the pond its name.
