Weikersheim is a small town (state-approved resort) in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The city developed from a Hohenlohe residence. "The development ... from the end of the 16th to the middle of the 18th century is clearly visible in a way that can hardly be found again" (Dehio-Handbuch Baden-Württemberg (1964), page 521). The Weikersheim Castle Music Academy is well known.

The Tauber is not navigable, so arriving by ship is not possible.

Weikersheim has a historical cityscape with partially preserved city wall, half-timbered houses, baroque market square and the city church from 1419.

Alchemical laboratory around 1600 by Count Wolfgang II von Hohenlohe: chemical substances, laboratory equipment, partly reconstructed according to old models, chemical stoves, including a "Lazy Heinz" (comfort oven, suitable for long-lasting chemical processes), chemical and alchemical volumes from the library of the Counts.
