Łomża (German: Lomsha, Lumbsee or Lumbse) is a historical place in the polish Voivodeship Podlaskie not far from the border to Warmia-Masuria at the Narew. The city is located in the historical region Mazovia in the Lomsha Countrywhose capital it had been since the early 15th century. The area is also called Kurpie or Kurpengau designated. From here the Mazovians migrated to Masuria one where they were referred to as Masuria and gave the region its name. The beer of the beer brand Łomża is brewed here.
