Countries without airports
Tokelau
None of the three atolls of Tokelau it is equipped with landing strips. The local government is seeking funding for the construction of at least one airport linking the region with the New Zeland or with Samoa. The most convenient method is to reach theNorth Island, not because it is physically the closest place, but because being in New Zeland it certainly offers more possibilities to reach the atolls by sea and greatly simplifies the problem of entry visas.
Pitcairn Islands
There is no landing strip on the islands, which would in any case be out of range of normal helicopters. The closest airport is on the island of He ate in Gambier islands, 330 miles away. It is then necessary to embark on ships en route to Pitcairn.
Ashmore and Cartier Islands
The atolls do not have airports or even runways for heliports. They can only be reached by ship from theAustralia.
Coral Sea Islands
The islands have no terminals. In any case, this region is practically unreachable. This is also due to the lack of ports and the absence of any local economic activity.
