particularities
Like all national roads in Switzerland, the motorway requires a vignette. An annual vignette is required, which costs CHF 40 (just under EUR 37). The vignette also covers the use of tunnels (such as Gotthard tunnel and Seelisberg tunnel).
traffic
The Gotthard route is one of the busiest Alpine crossings and is therefore at risk of congestion. Possibility of bypassing possibly via the A 13 (San Bernardino Route).
