Geographical notes
It is located in theUpper Molise on a hill that rises on the right side of the upper valley of the Sente stream, a tributary of the Trigno river, and is a village on the border with theAbruzzo, with which it is connected by one of the highest bridges inEurope. It is 6 km from Agnone, 18 from Pietrabbondante, 23 from Capracotta, 33 from Trivento.
Background
Until 1807 it was part, together with Agnone, Cantaloupe and Pietrabbondante, from the Abruzzo Hither; following the Napoleonic reorganization it was ceded to Molise.

What see
- 1 Church of San Salvatore. After several earthquakes in 1800 it was built again in 1865, with the work of Carlo da Pescopennataro. The structure is very similar to the fifteenth-century churches with a Latin cross plan and stone masonry. Only the interior is different because it has a single nave. The interior is neo-baroque with finds from the old church: altars of San Rocco and della Concezione.
- Lombard tower. Built in the 9th century, it is located in the old town and has a circular plan. It has an entrance surmounted by a window.
- 2 Samnite tomb of Ovio Paccio, via Fuori Porta Alberi. Ovio Paccio was a general of the Samnites who, according to the Roman historian Tito Livio, fought against Rome in the Samnite wars. The tomb is located outside the city and is in the shape of a mausoleum with stone arranged as a sarcophagus.
- 3 Church of San Rocco. Located near the town, it is a mid-nineteenth-century construction initially used for the burial of the dead, as in the cemetery behind it. At the beginning of the twentieth century an epidemic filled the church with an incredible number of deaths. The temple houses the graves of part of the Lemme family.
