Civitavecchia overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea and, since 2011, is the most important cruise port in the Mediterranean, with a turnout of about 2.5 million people.

The closest airport to Civitavecchia is the "Leonardo da Vinci" international airport of Fiumicino, about 65 km away.

Since 2011, the Port of Civitavecchia has become the first cruise port in the Mediterranean, and offers several routes:
