From Malsfeld train station (KBS 610), or the bus stopbus stoprailway station (Lines 490 and 491) you drive over the streets Am Bahnhof and Sandweg in the center of Malsfeld, where you also meet the Fulda-Efze-Weg, which over the Lindenstraße from 1 Junction to the Fulda cycle pathFulda cycle path runs from under two railway bridges into the town center. You cycle past the town hall up the Bachstraße Malsfeld out. At the level of the Fuldatalhalle you pass the former railway line of the Kanonenbahn and continue uphill on a gravel farm road along the Stellbach. Initially on 2 Stellbachtal Along the edge of the forest, the gravel path later changes deeper into the small forest strip, before finally turning south of Elfershausen onto the district road 15 or the bypass road from Malsfeld meets. Then you cycle along gravel farm roads and continue on the Kreisstraße 28 uphill to Dagobertshausen. When you arrive in the district of Malsfeld, turn south of the Evangelical Church to the east into Ostheimer Strasse and follow it past the 3 Dagobertshausen stopbus stopbus stopDagobertshausen (Lines 443 and 445) back out of Dagobertshausen. You cycle past several farms on Landesstraße 3427 to the south of the Mittleres Fulda industrial area, where the Fulda-Efze-Weg branches off into Rotdornstraße and leads in an arc under the A7 motorway to Ostheim. In the village, follow the signs for the Fulda-Efze-Weg over the Sipperhäuser Straße and the partly graveled Rittergasse to the southern exit of the village, where there is a directly on the roadside 4 Information board Ostheim Information board for the cycle route and the Elisabeth path provides information about the lignite and basalt mining in the Ostheim district.

If you want to make a detour from Ostheim to the nature reserve Goldbergsee with natural bathing lake Ostheim, leave the Fulda-Efze-Weg in the village and first follow the Sipperhäuser Straße to the village square bus stopbus stopOstheim (Lines 422, 442, 443, 445 and 490) and continue along Mosheimer Strasse and An der Sporthalle street out of Ostheim. You soon reach the natural bathing lake Ostheim on the northern edge of the nature reserve Goldbergsee via asphalt farm roads.

From the information board at the end of the village, the cycle route leads along with the Elisabethpfad hiking trail over asphalt farm roads along the Rhünda, before the hiking route branches off into the forest to Dagobertshausen and the Fulda-Efze-Weg again runs directly to Sipperhausen on its own.

Shortly before reaching Sipperhausen, an asphalt farm road branches off from Landesstraße 3428 to the north, which leads to a wooden refuge high above the Goldbergsee, from which you can see almost the entire nature reserve. The refuge is also a good starting point for going around the Goldbergsee. To do this, you first simply follow the asphalted farm road uphill in the western part to the Goningshausen desert, from which you cycle steeply downhill with a view of the Goldbergsee down to the natural bathing lake Ostheim. The bathing lake with good water quality with a small sandy beach and several park benches invites you to cool off. There is also a largely faded information board on the nature reserve at the local car park. In contrast to the western part, the eastern part of the circular route around the Goldbergsee is not paved throughout. Although you initially follow an asphalt farm road uphill, this soon turns into a gravel road and continues uphill not far from state road 3428. Shortly before reaching the grill hut Sipperhausen, there is also a short part of the circular path as a meadow path. From the grill hut you cycle again over the asphalt farm road back to the Fulda-Efze-Weg until shortly before Sipperhausen.

Follow the signs for the Fulda-Efze-Weg over the street Am Rhündabach in the center of Sipperhausen, in which the Evangelical Church is located 5 Bus stop Mittebus stopbus stopcenter (Lines 422 and 443) is located.

Sipperhausen - Homberg (Efze) (8 km)

District road 25 between Sipperhausen and Dickershausen
Above the roofs of the old town

From the Evangelical Church in the center of Sipperhausen you cycle on Dickershäuser Straße past the bus stopbus stopkindergarten (Line 443) out of Sipperhausen. Between Sipperhausen and Dickershausen the Fulda-Efze-Weg leads over the Kreisstraße 25 and crosses the city or municipality border between Malsfeld and Homberg (Efze). This also changes the signage, because in the urban area of Homberg (Efze) the lettering R 16 was removed or pasted over, so that the Fulda-Efze-Weg is now only signposted with local cycle signs. Finally is 6 Dickershausen Dickershausen, the first district of Homberg (Efze) reached on the bike route; the bus stopbus stopDickershausen is not located directly on the Fulda-Efze-Weg, but in the Rhündastraße in the center of the village. Continue on Kreisstraße 25 and leave Dickershausen again. This is followed by the last ascent up a ridge, from which you can for the first time Homberg (Efze) beheld. After you get to Kreisstraße 25 until shortly before 7 Mörshausen junction Having followed Mörshausen downhill, the Fulda-Efze-Weg now branches off into a gravel farm road, which soon turns into the Hochlandweg and leads past the cemetery into Mörshausen. If you do not drive on the Hochlandweg, but continue following the district road 25, you will also come to the village bus stopbus stopMörshausen (Line 422), which is otherwise left out. Again on the Kreisstraße 25 you cycle out of Mörshausen and follow this winding around a ridge. Alternatively, you can drive over the mountain ridge on an asphalt farm road away from the traffic, this route is 500 meters shorter, but also has 35 meters more in altitude. Finally, one has the first houses from via Kreisstraße 25 Homberg (Efze) reached, as well as the hospital with the bus stopbus stopHospital / Papillon (Line 422). At the next 8 Junction Homberg (Efze) At the intersection at which the above-mentioned alternative route would meet the original route again, you can still find the last signposts and signs for the Fulda-Efze-Weg, or general signposts, as the lettering R 16 was pasted over here as well.

Before going any further after Homberg (Efze) If you cycle into it, it is worth taking a detour up to the Hohenburg high above the small town. Otherwise, follow Hans-Staden-Allee past the bus stopbus stopRabengasse (Line 422) past down to the market square below the town church St. Marien, over which the Hess. Long-distance cycle route R5 runs. Continuing downhill through the small alleys of the old town, you will shortly afterwards also reach the on Wallstrasse bus stopbus stopBus station (Lines 409, 412, 422, 424, 426, 427, 450, 490, 491 and 493).
