Karlsdorf-Neuthard is a municipality in the region Hardtwald and Bruhrain in Baden-Wurttemberg. It is about 5 km west of Bruchsal and about 18 km north of Karlsruhe. The community Karlsdorf-Neuthard was created in the course of the community reform in 1975 from the formerly independent communities Karlsdorf and Neuthard.
The district of Neuthard was first mentioned in a document in 1281, it belonged to the Speyer monastery until 1803 and then became part of the Grand Duchy of Baden. Karlsdorf was only founded in 1813. After the Rhine floods repeatedly devastated the nearby town of Dettenheim, the Duke of Baden at the time made land available to the citizens of Dettenheim that belonged to the site of the former Altenbürg Castle.
