Mattighofen is a small town in Innviertel in Upper Austria.

Mattighofen is on the river Matty almost exactly halfway between the district town Braunau am Inn and the transport hub Straßwalchen in the State of Salzburg. With the Peace of Teschen it came from the electorate in 1779 Bavaria (Kurpfalzbaiern) together with the Innviertel to Austria, where she stayed with short interruptions. Mattighofen consists of two clearly separated parts, the church settlement with the castle in the north and the southern, long street.

From Germany preferably via the Federal motorway 3 to the Pocking exit, continue on federal road 12, which is currently at Federal motorway 94 is expanded until Simbach am Inn and there about the Inn to Braunau, from there 19 km further south on the Braunauer Strasse B 147. The fastest way from Vienna and Linz via the West Highway A1 to the Seewalchen junction and continue across Vöcklabruck and the Wiener Straße B1 to Straßwalchen and another 20 km on the B 147. From Munich the shortest via the not yet fully completed Federal motorway 94 to Simbach and there over the border. From Switzerland via Munich.

- The Mattsee, the Obertrumer See and the smaller one Grabensee form the Trumer Lakes and are just under 20 km south of the border between Upper Austria and the State of Salzburg. They are popular destinations for water sports.
