Moltrasio is a city of Lombardy.

Located on the west bank of the Lake Como, Montrasio was a favorite summer destination for celebrities such as Giovanni Versace and Winston Churchill. It's still a lovely destination, easy to reach and close to the area's main destinations, but with a friendly village feel. It offers beautiful views of the lake.

The town is located less than 50 km from Milan, where you will also find the nearest major airport. The city of Como it is located about 6 km south of Monstrasio. Monstrasio is very close to the border with the Switzerland: the city of Lugano, which also has an airport, is only about half an hour from here, mostly via the A2.

  • 1 Villa Fontanelle. Built in the 19th century by Lord Charles Currie, this yellow-painted mansion on the shores of Lake Como was owned by Gianni Versace until he was assassinated in 1997. The villa received many celebrity guests in its day.
  • 2 Church of Sant'Agata. Romanesque church dating from the 11th century and decorated with frescoes.
