Seals

Seals are one of the most famous wild animals in the national park. If you visit the national park, you should definitely take a boat trip to a seal bank. A recent aerial survey in the park showed 8,415 seals. With this count, all seal banks and resting places of the animals in the national park were flown over and photographed during a low water phase on a 600 km long flight. The animals were then counted on the computer on earth. Of course, the number cannot be determined 100% because there are always animals on the lookout for food. Each animal covers 50 to 100 km per day in the water to hunt fish. Seals spend 80% of their life in the water. If you have the rare luck to see a "red seal", it is not sick, but has simply rolled around in rust-red, iron-containing mud. The shade of red stays in the animal's fur longer. [1]
