Neckarbischofsheim is a city in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
background
Neckarbischofsheim is located on the northern border of the Kraichgau Little Odenwald.
The place Bischofsheim was first mentioned in a document in 988, in 1378 it is referred to as a city in a sales contract. It was surrounded by a city wall in the Middle Ages, a remnant of that is this pentagonal tower. In 1806 the place became Baden, to distinguish it from other places it was given the addition of the name due to the new rule Neckar, which the citizens of today still quite simply omit in everyday language, the city is called short and sweet Bishess. Logically, because the Neckar is miles away from here. Today Neckarbischofsheim still includes the Helmhof district and the formerly independent village Untergimpern, which was incorporated in 1971.
