Bad Rappenau is a large district town in the district Heilbronn in the region Heilbronn-Franconia in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
background
Bad Rappenau is located on the eastern edge of the Kraichgau. This region, too Baden Tuscany called, has a relatively mild climate and was therefore settled early on, as barrows and remains of Roman settlements show. Rappenau was first mentioned in a document in 1343, at that time the place was owned by the Lords of Helmstatt. In 1592 they sold Rappenau to the Lords of Gemmingen, who subsequently built the moated castle in place of an older aristocratic residence. In 1806 the place became part of the Grand Duchy Swimming, the current districts of Bonfeld and Fürfeld became part of the Kingdom of Württemberg.
After the discovery of a salt store in 1822, a brine bath and a saltworks were created; the latter finally ceased production in 1973. Since 1930 the place received the title bath. In the years after the Second World War, Bad Rappenau grew strongly thanks to the spa operations. The Courtyard incorporated.
After the incorporation of the districts Babstadt, Bonfeld, Fürfeld, Grombach, Heinsheim,Upper lashes, Tresch blades and Wollenberg In the years 1971 - 1973 Bad Rappenau got the town charter, since 2003 it has been allowed to use the title Great county seat decorate.

The 1 Bad Rappenau train station is on the railway line Mannheim - Heidelberg - Sinsheim - Bad friedrichshall - Heilbronn. Regional trains run. The route is mainly served by the Heilbronn tram line S42. Further stops in the Bad Rappenau area are in 2 Spa gardens, in the districts 3 Babstadt and 4 Grombach . When driving towards Heidelberg you have to get off the line S42 change to the line in Grombach or Sinsheim S5 of VRN, or you are looking for a regional train of the DB that does not have to change trains.

The Kurhaus regularly offers dance events, the Badische Landesbühne occasionally makes guest appearances there, and cabaret events take place here sporadically, but also in the courtyard of the moated castle.

In Bad Rappenau you can actually find all the goods you need on a daily basis. Most of the retail stores are in the pedestrian zone around the town hall and the church square or in the immediate vicinity.
On Saturday and Wednesday mornings there is a market on the church square, where mainly regional vendors sell their goods. Fresh asparagus or strawberries can be sold there every day, depending on the season.
The range of supermarkets and hypermarkets has concentrated on the Raiffeisenstrasse area and is generously dimensioned for a small town with Aldi, Kaufland, Lidl, Netto and Rewe.
In the districts, however, the range of goods is rather meager.

As a health resort, Bad Rappenau levies a visitor's tax. This is due for guests staying more than two nights. It is currently € 2.15 - € 2.50 per day depending on the season, for an accompanying person it is € 2.00 - € 2.25, children are free, severely disabled people receive a 70% discount. With a tourist card you get some discounts, e.g. a one-time free entry to the indoor pool.
Houses with the Bathing crown offer rooms that include entry to the brine indoor pool and the brine outdoor pool when the visitor's tax has been paid.

Bad Rappenau meets all the requirements for health resorts in terms of air quality and climate. With the additional use of the brine as a remedy, the classic therapies can be expanded, e.g. with inhalations. Other goals
- Siegelbach is a neighboring town with 1700 inhabitants to the north. Some well-preserved or restored half-timbered houses in the old town center, the churches of both denominations and the castle built around 1700, today used by the Protestant parish, are worth seeing.
- Kirchardt is located southwest of Bad Rappenau and has a total of 5,500 inhabitants in the districts of Kirchardt, Bockschaft and Berwangen. Worth seeing: some old half-timbered houses. A special feature is the presence of a Syrian Orthodox Church.
