Bad friedrichshall is a city in Heilbronn district in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

background

history

Bad Friedrichshall was created in 1933-1935 through the merger of the towns of Kochendorf, Jagstfeld and Hagenbach. In 1951 it was appointed town. In the course of the community reform, Duttenberg was incorporated in 1972 and Untergriesheim in 1975. The Plattenwald district was built on a site that was undeveloped until 1992 next to the Plattenwald district hospital. So-called residential areas such as the rabbit mill and Heuchlingen also belong to the city.

The name Friedrichshall comes from the name of a salt works in Jagst, which was named after King Friedrich I of Württemberg, the title bath has its origins in the children's brine bath.

Economy

In the neighboring cities Bad Wimpfen and Bad Rappenau the health aspects of salt are placed in the foreground, Bad Friedrichshall, on the other hand, relies more on salt extraction: the Südwestdeutsche Salzwerke extract rock salt for industry and trade, as table salt and road salt in winter.
