Niedźwiedź is a mountain town in Poland in the voivodeship Lesser Poland. The place name can be written as bear translate. The place is south of Krakow between Island Beskids and the Gorce, both mountain ranges of the Beskydy Mountains. South of the village is the Gorce National Parkthat you can hike from the place. The mountain river Porębianka flows through the place, which over the Mszanka into the Raba drains. Also belongs to the municipality Poreba Wielka.

The mountain stream in the village was first mentioned in a document in 1254. The official establishment took place in 1398. The parish church was built until 1593. In 1608 the paper mill was built in the village. From the higher elevations of the community you have a nice view of the Tatra Mountains.
