Understand

THE'Oceania is a vast region of the world forming one of the five traditional “continents” of the planet but in which the countries are connected by the Pacific Ocean rather than by land borders.

It is the region par excellence of white sand beaches, coconut palms swayed by the breeze, coral reefs and volcanic islands emerging from the azure waters.

Regions

THE'Australia, the New Zealand and the Papua New Guinea are by far the largest countries on the continent, the first two also being the most visited. The other islands of Oceania are traditionally divided into three groups according to more historical than cultural criteria: the Melanesia in the southwest, the Micronesia in the Northwest and Polynesia in the East.

Oceania Map
Australia
The largest and most populous country in Oceania. It also has one of the world's largest deserts in the middle.
New Zealand
One of the main destinations after Australia with highly developed tourist infrastructures. Widely regarded as one of the most pristine and beautiful countries on the planet. Well-developed facilities for travelers. This region is theoretically part of Polynesia because the indigenous Maori people are Polynesian.
Papua New Guinea
Tropical rainforest, culture and impressive landscapes. A very little visited destination that will delight adventurers.
Polynesia
A word that often rhymes with paradise and breathtakingly beautiful islands stretching for thousands of kilometers in the distant waters of the South Pacific.
Melanesia
Very close to the ethno-cultural group of Papua New Guinea which is often included there, this region includes the very popular destination of Fiji.
Micronesia
The tiny islands of this region, clustered in the north and on the equator, are less visited by tourists than their neighbors. If you are looking for a truly beautiful place, head to the Palau.
