By plane
Airports are located in Salzburg and near Munich (Munich Airport)
By train
Prien is served hourly by regional traffic (Meridian) and individual ICs on the Munich - Rosenheim - Salzburg route. The journey time to Munich East is 50 minutes and to Munich Hbf 1 hour, with the IC 57 minutes.
The regional train from Aschau im Chiemgau ends in Prien.

- The 56.4 km long Chiemsee circular route leads through the Stock district on Lake Chiemsee. Traffic-free access from the north is only possible via the footpath which is closed to cyclists, but which is used by many cyclists.
- The 55 km long Chiemsee cycle path leads on side streets through the Stock district on Lake Chiemsee.
To the south, the shared cycle path runs for several kilometers on the road. The cycle path along the railway is free of traffic in the direction of Bernau.

- The historic Chiemsee Railway has been a nostalgic narrow-gauge railway in Prien since 1887 and has been 1.8 km in length between the train station in the center and the Chiemsee shipping port in Stock. It is advertised as the oldest steam tram and runs daily on Sundays and public holidays and in the summer months from June to September. Driving time around 8 minutes, average speed 15 km / h. The operator is the Chiemmseeschifffahrt, Fare: € 3.70 (As of 2015).
- The cycle and hiking bus runs around the Chiemsee Chiemseering line. The fare is € 9.80 and is free for guest card holders. Taking a bike with you costs € 2.10.
