Hiking and mountaineering

The Chiemgau mountains are relatively easy to hike because their height and nature are not very high alpine. Lush vegetation can be found right up to the peaks. Hiking trails are plentiful and also quite well marked and signposted. The colored path markings are sometimes a bit hidden, so you should be careful. In addition, you are in a border region, so that markings do not always look the same. Hiking maps are an advantage. There are plenty of parking spaces, especially at the valley stations of the mountain railways, from where many hiking trails start.
