background

Politically, Sankt Heinrich is a district of Münsing.

St. Heinrich finds its way into literature in the story "Die Fischerrosl von St. Heinrich", written in 1884 by Maximilian Schmidt for King Ludwig II as one of four "Starnbergersee Stories". The love story is considered to be the best cultural image of the lake landscape from around 1840 before the invention of the steamship and the railroad.
