Seligenstadt is a city in Rhine Main Area in Hesse on the border to Lower Franconia in Bavaria.
getting there
By plane
The closest airport is the airport Frankfurt
(IATA: FRA). From there you travel by train (long-distance trains or S-Bahn S8 / 9) to Frankfurt, from where there are further connections.
By train
Seligenstadt is through the Line 64 of Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV)operated by the Vias company as part of the Odenwaldbahn. The train runs every half hour during rush hour Hanau and hourly after Frankfurt or in the opposite direction Groß-Umstadt and every two hours after Erbach. At the train station in Seligenstadt there is a link with the OF-85 and OF-86 bus routes in the direction of Mainhausen instead of.
By bus
The OF-99 bus connects Seligenstadt with other communities in the Offenbach district. The line ends in Long at the train station, from where there is a connection to the S-Bahn S3 / 4 Darmstadt or. bad Soden/Kronberg via Frankfurt am Main.

Seligenstadt is the station of the Limes cycle path and des Main cycle path (please refer Bicycle paths in Hessen).
Many bicycle tourists come to Seligenstadt in summer. In the inner courtyard of the town hall, the city offers a Charging station for electric bicycles. If there is a flat tire, there are also two automatic hose machines outside of business hours. Many bicycle tourists also use the ferry from Seligenstadt to cross the Main to Bavaria.
With the ferry
There is a paid service commuting between Seligenstadt and the Bavarian communities of Kahl and Karlstein am Main Passenger and car ferry. The ferry service was resumed in April 2015 after a general overhaul. The ferry can be used as public transport (line OF-89).
By car
The arrival via the motorway 
from Frankfurt or Würzburg takes place to

Cheap parking (fee € 0.20 per half hour or € 1 per 24 hours):

The walk to the center is then about 10 minutes. Free parking can be found in the courtyard of the former Seligenstadt municipal utility at Steinheimer Strasse 45, at the fire brigade at Frankfurter Strasse 33, on Kapellenplatz and along Aschaffenburger Strasse and Jahnstrasse. Parking in the old town is reserved for residents and is limited to a few parking spaces with a maximum parking time of 2 hours.

Seligenstadt is on the network of the transport association RMV connected. For mobility in Seligensadt there is from the Offenbach roundabout company a dial-a-bus that can be ordered via an app can only be paid for with the "hopper" with an EC or credit card and via the app with PayPal. - 3 Seligenstadt moated castle, 63500 Seligenstadt. Pleasure palace of the abbots of Seligenstadt. Erected around 1700 or 1705. Nothing is left of the surrounding gardens today. The building is privately owned.

The tourist information offers regular City tours with different topics. Alternatively, Seligenstadt can also be used individually with the Seligenstadt app or with one GPS scavenger hunt (geocaching) explore.
Boat tours are offered by the Primus line from May to October. There is also the possibility of exploring Seligenstadt as part of a day trip from Frankfurt, Offenbach or Hanau.
Regular events
- Seligenstadt has one of the largest, most beautiful, most colorful and most original Rose Monday parades of the region (start: 13:31). He still gets by without commercial advertising and payment. However, every visitor has to buy a "train badge" in order to support the Carnival Monday procession financially.
