As Southern tier (German: southern location) is that region in the US state new York referred to west of the Catskill Mountains and from there it extends over a length of around 180 km to the northern edge of Pennsylvania hugs. The Southern Tier is conveniently located off Interstate Highway 86, which is used when traveling to Niagara Falls from New York City. Regional airports are in Big flats (Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, ELM) and in East Maine at Binghamton (Greater Binghamton Airport, BGM). Most of the larger towns in the region can also be reached by bus Greyhound be approached.
