The Thiersee Valley is a high valley in the Brandenberg Alps and lies in the northeast North Tyrol on the border to Upper Bavaria.

The valley is drained from west to east by the Thierseeer Ache, the source is located on the original pass, in the Inn valley the Tiroler Ache flows into the Inn as a Kieferbach in the district of Unterkiefer.

The next railway station is located in Kufstein, it is on the railway line Munich-Kufstein-innsbruck and is a stop for regional trains and ICE connections. Continue to the Thierseetal by bus or taxi.
On the road the Thierseetal can best be reached from the east side via the Inntal motorway Munich-Dreieck Inntal-Innsbruck, exit Kuftstein. From Kufstein about seven kilometers of driveway via Thiersestrasse into the Thierseetal.
Coming from the north (from the Munich area), it is alternatively possible to arrive on the road via the scenic route past Schliersee: From the A8 motorway (Munich-Salzburg), 
Weyarn or Irschenberg, and on the federal highway B 307 over Miesbach and Schliersee to Bayrischzell, and then on the St2075 over the original pass (836 m), border pass between Germany and Austria and under normal weather conditions also easy to drive in winter, from the west into the Thierseetal.
