Urbach is a municipality in the Remstal, it is located in the Virgin forest in the south and the Swabian-Franconian Forest in the north at the foothills of the Welzheimer Forest.

The B29 passes the southern edge of the village, it comes from Schorndorf and continues to Schwäbisch Gmünd.

- Mountain slide circular route on the Kirchsteig near the outdoor swimming pool. During a landslide in 2001, the terrain slid over 200 m in length up to 17 m in depth. The area has been designated as a nature reserve. Since 2007, geology and wildlife have been explained along an approximately 3 km long circular route.
