The White main arises in Fichtel Mountains at Bischofsgrün at the foot of the Ochsenkopf and flows 41 kilometers through Upper Franconia to the Mainz confluence to Kulmbach.
background
The White Main is the richer, but shorter of the two source rivers of the Mains. The name comes from the fact that the river flows over granite rock and therefore absorbs less sediment, i.e. it is less reddish and cloudy than the river Red main.
Its two source rivers connect at Kulmbach, the White main and the Red main to the Main. This place will Main origin or Mainz confluence called. This is where it starts Upper Mainland.
