The climatic health resort Bischofsgrün lies at the foot of the two highest mountains of the Fichtelgebirge, the Ochsenkopf and the Schneeberg. Bischofsgrün is one of the most touristic places in the Fichtel Mountains.

By plane
The nearest international airport is the Nuremberg Airport.
By train and bus
Bischofsgrün is far away from the railway lines and can only be reached by bus. There are bus connections to the train stations in Willow Hill, Bayreuth and Marktredwitz.
Local public transport in the Nuremberg metropolitan region is operated by the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association VGN operated. It is possible to use different means of transport with one ticket, such as bus, train, S-Bahn or U-Bahn. The tickets can be purchased online or via an app.

The summer tourist should Hike to the Ochsenkopf do not miss. - Alpine skiing. The valley station of the double chairlift is 1.5 km east of the town center. Together with the chairlift from Fleckl, the cable car opens up two longer alpine runs. These runs in German low mountain ranges are the exception in terms of length and height difference (300 or 350 meters in altitude and 2 to 2.5 km in length). In winter on main ski days there may be waiting times due to the limited transport capacities. The construction of a more efficient gondola is being discussed on site. - Nordic skiing. From Bischofsgrün there is a connection to the extensive network of trails in the High Fichtelgebirge. At the Ochsenkopf there is a lower ring trail with a length of 14 km and an upper ring trail with a length of 6 km. The routes are interconnected. Both routes run completely in the forest. As a rule, you should run in a clockwise direction. There is also a cross-country ski run to the summit (it is necessary to have a good command of the "snow plow" for braking). At the top, after more than 300 meters in altitude, the Asenturm awaits as a reward with summit catering. - Snowshoeing. The meadow area of the natural spa park is ideal for first attempts at walking on snowshoes.
- Winter hiking. There are cleared winter hiking trails. If you want, you can go on a leisurely winter hike to the Fichtelsee, for example.
