Mehlmeisel is a municipality in the district Bayreuth in the Bavarian administrative district Upper Franconia in the Fichtelgebirge nature park on the upper reaches of the Fichtelnaab im Fichtelgebirge.

By plane
The nearest international airport is the Nuremberg Airport.
In the street
Flour chisel is on the highway 
that of Munich above Nuremberg to Berlin leads from the exit Bayreuth-Nord approx. 30 km east of Bayreuth away on state road 2181. Alternatively, you can reach the place from the motorway 
regensburg to court from the Marktredwitz-Nord exit and federal road 303 to Fichtelberg and then continue on state road 2181 to the Mehlmeisel exit.
By train and bus
The next train stations are in Willow Hill and Marktredwitz.
Local public transport in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region is operated by the Greater Nuremberg Transport Association VGN operated. It is possible to use different means of transport with one ticket, such as bus, train, S-Bahn or U-Bahn. The tickets can be purchased online or via an app.

In the 8 hectare game park, lynxes, wild cats, wild boar, red deer, capercaillie, black grouse, fox, raccoon and other animals are shown. In the adjoining forest house, changing multimedia-based exhibitions on various topics relating to nature, wood and forest are shown.Open: Summer time from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., winter time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guided tours with feeding of the animals at 2 p.m. (all year round) and at 4.30 p.m. (summer time only).
- Local recreation center Bayreuth House. With observation tower Klausenturm, children's playground, game reserve with red and wild boar, ski lift, forest house, forest museum, discovery trail, Kneipp facility, lake and many hiking trails around the house.
- Baroque pilgrimage chapel Maria Loreto, in the Unterlind district. Built in 1686.
- neo-Romanesque Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist, in flour chisel. Built in 1906/07.
