Kirchenpingarten is a municipality in the district Bayreuth in the Bavarian administrative district Upper Franconia at the foot of the Fichtelgebirge and belongs to the administrative community Willow Hill.

The area is also called Franconian Palatinate. In the valley in Weidenberg Franconian is spoken, at the top, in the Kirchenpingarten district of Kirmsees, the Upper Palatinate dialect is already spoken, although the community still belongs to Upper Franconia. This is where the border ran between the Franconian Radenzgau and the Bavarian Nordgau, between the Protestant Margraves of Bayreuth and the Catholic Speinshart Monastery.

- 1 The Catholic Parish Church St. James major dates from 1690-1691. However, the tower was only built in the middle of the 18th century and later increased.

- 1 Hikes to Gänskopfhütte, it is located on the extreme south side of the Fichtelgebirge at 743 m altitude. At the weekend, the Gänskopfhütte is open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., it is operated by the Fichtelgebirgsverein.
