They are a specialty from Weidenberg Pretzels. The name comes from the fact that aniseed pretzels are or are served on every table during the pretzel weeks, in the carnival season. During these weeks, the various inns have one after the other Pretzels. Associated with this are special dishes such as horseradish meat and various roasts. A more elaborate kitchen is operated than usual. Many Weidenbergers go to a different tavern every week ´auf die Brezen´, so the restaurants are well filled and you have to come in time to get a seat.
