Geographical notes
The upper Bergamo area constitutes the northern part of the Province of Bergamo.
Territories and tourist destinations
- Val Brembana - The spa town of San Pellegrino Terme, a renowned tourist resort and famous all over the world for its waters and style buildings Liberty.
- Taleggio Valley - Small side valley to the Brembana Valley famous for the production of cheeses such as Taleggio and Strachitunt
- Val Seriana —
- Scalve Valley - Small side valley of the Val Camonica marked by the course of the river Dezzo. Its main country is Schilpario.
Urban centers
- Clusone - a town in the Val Seriana, it is often remembered for the Baroque-style Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and for the triumph over death and for the macabre dance contained in the Oratory of the Disciplini. The clock tower, considered a symbol of Clusone, also deserves a special mention. The clock still shows the astral movements, of the earth, of the sun and of the moon with great precision.
- Cornello dei Tasso (fraction of Cornello dormitory) - a small village in the upper Brembana Valley, thanks to its fairly isolated position it still retains its historic center today. - Tasso and Postal History Museum, Via Cornello 22, Cornello dormitory, ☎ 39 034 543479. The museum, divided into 4 rooms, contains the first stamp ever issued, the Penny Black and equipment for the 19th and 20th century postal system such as telephones and telegraphs. Torquato Tasso (writer of the Conquered Jerusalem, known to most with the title chosen by Angelo Ingegneri while Torquato was locked up in the psychiatric hospital of Sant'Anna: Jerusalem Liberated) and his father Bernardo.

As in the whole of the Alps, also in this region it is possible to go hiking in the mountains and admire amazing landscapes. Mushroom picking is a popular hobby in this region. It is important to know that to practice this activity it is necessary to pay a permit, not to exceed the maximum quantity allowed and to put the mushrooms in baskets or nets in order to allow the spores to fall. In the summer, many municipalities or mountain communities usually open counseling centers where anyone can have their crop checked to avoid unpleasant surprises.
