Alzey is a city in Rheinhessen in the German state Rhineland-Palatinate.
background
The city of Alzey goes back to the Roman settlement Altiaia, which was founded around the birth of Christ.
In the 4th and 5th centuries the city belonged to the Burgundies; this story was with the character of the minstrel Volker von Alzey in the Nibelungenlied processed.
