Geographical notes
It borders to the north with the Val di Fiemme, to the east with the Primiero and with the Veneto - areas of Belluno and of Vicenza - and to the west with theAlta Valsugana and Bersntol.
The geography of the valley is dominated by the flow of the Brenta river, which then continues in the direction of Bassano del Grappa. As soon as you cross the Veneto border, the valley loses the name of Valsugana, and becomes Brenta Canal. The Tesino instead it is a plateau, made up of the inhabited areas of Pieve Tesino, Tesino belts, and the main center Tesino Castle. It can be reached via provincial roads from Strigno or from Grigno.
Spoken languages
In the eastern Valsugana, in addition to Italian, a dialect is spoken that may seem a perfect union between the Trentino dialect and the Venetian dialect. The Venetian component is increasingly accentuated the closer you get to the border: in the town of Tezze di Grigno this is predominant. The western limit of this influence is represented by the political border with theUpper Valsugana and Bersntol: in fact beyond the municipality of Novaledo only the Trentino dialect is spoken, albeit with important phonetic differences with the spoken language a Trento.
