Geographical notes
The territory of the Province occupies a large part of the Isthmus of Catanzaro, which consists of a narrow valley of about 30 km, which joins the Tyrrhenian and Ionian coasts, and is the narrowest point ofItaly.

- Catanzaro - Capital of the province of Catanzaro and of the region Calabria. Second urban center of the region by population. Very popular in the summer season is its seaside district, Catanzaro Lido.
- Girifalco - Country nestled in the hills at about 450 meters high. Mount Covello is part of its territory, and from its highest points you can see both the Tyrrhenian and the Ionian seas.
- Sellia Marina - Well known seaside resort, it includes about 14 km of beaches in its territory. From 2018 to 2020 she was awarded the Baniera Blu.
- Squillace
- Tavern - Located near the small Sila.
- Tiriolo - Also very close to the small Sila.

By car
A2 motorway - Salerno - Reggio Calabria, following the Tyrrhenian coast, starts from Salerno and crosses the territory of Catanzaro, where it has three exits, respectively for San Mango d'Aquino, Falerna is Lamezia Terme, coming up to Reggio Calabria.
State road 18 Tirrena Inferiore, starts from Naples following the Tyrrhenian coast and partly that of the A2 motorway, crossing the towns of Catanzaro Nocera Terinese, Falerna, Gizzeria, Lamezia Terme is Curinga.
State road 106 Jonica, following the Ionian coast, connects Taranto to Reggio Calabria, passing through Catanzaro Lido, Squillace, Borgia is Simeri Crichi.
State road 109 of the Piccola Sila, starts from Lamezia Terme, this road connects the province of Catanzaro with Cutro fence, in Province of Crotone.
State road 182 of the Serre Calabre, starts from Soverato and crosses the Calabrian greenhouses (hence the name), reaching up to Vibo Valentia.
State road 713 Trasversale delle Serre, under construction, connects the province of Catanzaro to that of Vibo Valentia.

The most important stations in the province are those of Lamezia Terme, located on the Tyrrhenian coast, e Catanzaro Lido, on the Ionian coast.

How to get around
By public transport
Each municipality in the province has a bus service for urban mobility.
Since 1998 Catanzaro it also has an underground line, which connects the historic center with the coastal districts.
The connections between the various municipalities are managed by bus companies, the most important being the Railways of Calabria is Federico bus lines.

- State road 18 Tirrena Inferiore, follows the Tyrrhenian coast and partly that of the A2 motorway, crossing the municipalities of Nocera Terinese, Falerna, Gizzeria, Lamezia Terme is Curinga.
State road 19 bis of the Calabrie - Provincial road 166 of the Marina di Catanzaro, runs within the municipality of Catanzaro, connecting the State road 19 quater with the State road 106 Jonica- State road 106 Jonica, follows the Ionian coast, passing through Catanzaro Lido, Squillace, Borgia is Simeri Crichi.
- State road 109 of the Piccola Sila, starts from Lamezia Terme, this road leads up to the Sila.
- State road 182 of the Serre Calabre, starts from Soverato and crosses the Calabrian greenhouses (hence the name), reaching up to Vibo Valentia.
Highway 280 of the Due Mari, connects the Tyrrhenian coast to the Ionian coast. Among the places served there are Lamezia Terme, Catanzaro, Carafe of Catanzaro, Marcellinara is Settingiano.- State road 713 Trasversale delle Serre, a road that is partly under construction, connects the Territory of Catanzaro, where it passes through the municipality of Gagliato, with that of Vibo Valentia.
