Friedrichstadt (Danish: Frederiksstad, Frisian: Fräärstää) is a city in Schleswig-Holstein.The one in the south of the district North Frisia lying city was founded in 1621 for Dutch religious refugees. They brought the architecture with them from their homeland.
Thanks to the Dutch architecture, the "Dutch town" is popular today.

The historic old town can be easily explored on foot.
A special experience is of course one Boat tour on the canals around the old town. In a one-hour tour, the city can be viewed from the water. You can choose between two providers:

Houses worth seeing
In the old town, the many clinker buildings exude Dutch charm. Here are a few buildings worth seeing:
- 1 Old coin - built in 1610; beautiful facade
- 2 Neberhaus - built between 1621 and 1630, can be visited, today restaurant Holländische Stuben
- 3 Paludanus house by 1637
Churches
- 4 Remonstrant Church, Prinzesstrasse 29. - is a simple building that was built in 1854. The church belongs to the only German remonstrant congregation. This belief comes from the Netherlands.
- 5 Mennonite Church, Am Mittelburgwall 25, 25840 Friedrichstadt. - The towerless church adjoins the Alte Münze museum. The Mennonite and Danish congregations hold services here. Mennonites are also known as Baptists.
- 6 Christophoruskirche, At the Mittelburgwall. - The Protestant hall church was completed in 1649. It has a remarkable altarpiece.
- 7 St. Knud Church, At the Fürstenburgwall 15. - The catholic church without a tower has existed since 1854. Noteworthy interior fittings: inter alia. Wooden crucifix from 1230; Wooden figures from the 17th century. St. Knud was profaned in 2003.

- 8 Old Mint Museum- The city museum is located in a historical warehouse from 1626. A collection on the city's history is on display. There is also a popular collection on everyday life in the city.
- 9 Jacob Hansen Carpentry Museum - historical carpentry town, which can be visited on request.
- 10 Gallery in the five-gable house on the Fürstenburgwall. The exhibition building is a historic gabled house from 1623. Changing art exhibitions with predominantly northern German artists are shown. A small cafe with a garden belongs to the gallery.
